Chiropractic care can be viewed much like building a house: in order to have a strong structure that is durable and functions properly, the steps toward completion must be carried out in a certain order. When constructing a house, the essential first building block is a strong foundation; if this is not properly layed, the walls will be weak and evetually collapse, just as the roof will if built upon poorly constructed walls. The same holds true for your body and your health. A particular plan of care must be followed in order for your body to repair itself correctly and fully, and your continued health is based upon this solid foundation of initial care.
There are three general phases of chiropractic care...
If you are in pain when you come into the office, our first objective is to help you feel better. Depending on the severity of your problem, it is typical to need care 2-3 times per week for 4-12 weeks.
During the corrective care phase, muscles and other tissues are allowed to heal more completely, thereby helping to prevent injury. It is typical to need care 4-8 times per month for 6-24 months, depending upon your overall health and the severity of your problem.
Once your body has fully healed, it is important to come in for periodic adjustments in order to avoid future problems. Usually, this only requires a quick visit to the chiropractor 1-4 times per month, based on your lifestyle and personal wellness goals.
