McCarter Health Center is a Multidisciplinary Alternative Health Care Facility located on Emerson Avenue in North Parkersburg, WV. In 1977, Dr. Joseph McCarter opened McCarter Chiropractic Clinic after moving his family from Illinois to West Virginia. He was the 6th chiropractor in our region. Today, McCarter’s unique approach to natural health care includes: Chiropractic, Physical Therapy, Sports Training and Rehabilitation, Massage Therapy, Nutritional Counseling, Supplements and Functional Nutrition Protocols, Cold Laser Therapy, Detoxification Programs, and CBD consultations and treatment. The Cupboard Store, added in 2019, is a nutritional supplement and health product store within the main facility of McCarter Health Center. It sells vitamins, herbs, essential oils, salves, creams, CBD, Cellcore™-Bioactive carbon detoxification, Standard Process™ purification products, and supplements.

The McCarter team includes two doctors of chiropractic – Dr. Joseph McCarter and Dr. Heather McCarter. The physical therapy and research department is headed by licensed physical therapist Dr. Darrin Marsh, DPT. Lori Britt, LMT leads our massage therapy department, specializing in deep-tissue massage, therapeutic massage, and ashiatsu massage. This father-daughter team, and their professional staff, focus on the overall health and wellness of their patients. In addition, each healthcare provider regularly receives specialized training in his or her area of expertise, and is recognized for professional excellence in his or her field.
